Since the launch of the revamped PlayStation Plus over a year ago, it’s been an exhilarating journey for PlayStation enthusiasts, with an abundance of engaging offerings such as quality titles in the Game Catalog, trophy enhancements for classic games, and much more. Now, Sony Interactive Entertainment is thrilled to reveal additional details about PS5 cloud streaming, exclusively available to PlayStation Plus Premium members.

Starting this month, Sony will be rolling out cloud streaming access for selected PS5 digital titles within the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, Game Trials, and supported titles owned by PlayStation Plus Premium members. The company plans to introduce cloud streaming support for hundreds of PS5 games, offering players a seamless gaming experience.

Here’s what you need to know about this exciting launch:

Supported Games: The PS5 cloud streaming service will encompass top PS5 hits from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, including titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Mortal Kombat 11, and Saints Row IV.

Game Trials: PlayStation Plus Premium members can also enjoy Game Trials of PS5 games, including Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Calisto Protocol.

Owned Titles: Furthermore, members can stream additional PS5 digital titles they own, expanding their gaming library with titles like Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys, and Fortnite.

Features and Benefits: PlayStation Plus Premium members will gain access to a range of features, making their gaming experience even more enjoyable:

  • Downloadable content and in-game purchases, similar to downloadable games.
  • High-quality resolution options, including 4K, 1440p, 1080p, and 720p, with 60 FPS and SDR or HDR output.
  • Enhanced audio with support for all PS5 audio capabilities, including 5.1 and 7.1 as well as Tempest 3D AudioTech.
  • The ability to capture screenshots and record up to 3 minutes of video, which can be downloaded to your Media Gallery on the PS5 and accessed through the PS App’s Media Gallery.

Phased Rollout:

Sony acknowledges that launching such an expansive feature is a significant undertaking and plans to introduce it regionally in a phased approach. The tentative launch dates are as follows:

  • Japan: Targeting October 17
  • Europe: Targeting October 23
  • North America: Targeting October 30

The PS5 cloud streaming through PlayStation Plus Premium will be available in select regions, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Sony Interactive Entertainment invites players to enjoy this new PS5 streaming feature, which will be automatically included in their PlayStation Plus Premium membership.
