Computers are now a vital part of our everyday technology and allow us to research, run programs, and keep in communication with friends, family, and co-workers. However, computers are also prone to attacks so you’ll want to make sure you have a security protection program installed. Like your RetroTeck Window Mfg. Ltd,protected doors and windows, your computer also needs a little protective love. Here are six of the best programs to consider when thinking about protecting your technology.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Malwarebytes is one of the best programs to clean infections from your computer. It is not designe
d to be an anti-virus program, but rather as an added security measure. There is both a free version and a paid version, with the paid version offering automatic scans. If you are diligent about your computer maintenance, the free version is also a decent option.

Windows Defender
Microsoft does offer an anti-virus program with their computer operating systems. Windows Defender is very basic and it will offer false positives. However, it is free, and comes with your computer when you buy from Windows. It also helps improve your system performance, which makes it worth having.

Avast
Avast Free Antivirus is a software program which offers better protection than the built in software provided on most computers. As the name implies, it is free to download and it is known for picking up over 90-percent of all security threats to computers.

AVG
Similar to Avast, AVG picks up over 90-percent of the known and unknown security threats introduced. AVG Anti-virus protection in the free version is well above par, making it unnecessary to purchase the paid program. There have been reports of some false positives, but it offers a great system performance.

ZoneAlarm
ZoneAlarm is another program that offers supreme security protection for your computer. It is an anti-virus and firewall program combined. The free version has had a few false positives, but it is not as proficient at catching security threats that are new to the market. It still catches over 90-percent, but both Avast and AVG have been known to catch more attacks.

Panda
Panda offers a Cloud Antivirus program that is free. It is not as efficient as Avast or AVG, but it is much better than ZoneAlarm and Windows Defender. The best thing about this software is the fact it rarely reports a false positive.

While there are many other antivirus and malware protection programs available on the market, these six are among the best available. They do not take up much of your system’s resources and they are all free to download. You can also run Malwarebytes along with any of the other programs listed here for ultimate protection on your computer systems.
