According to a report from 9to5Mac suggest that the next-generation AirPods 2 might be coming with “Hey Siri” voice assistant support with latest iOS 12.2 updates later this year. The report suggests that the feature found on the latest iOS beta (iOS 12.2) which was released on Thursday. The report suggests that the feature which was hidden from public view found while configuring the AirPods.
According to the report, the upcoming AirPods running iOS 12.2 will include “Hey Siri” integration and users will be asked to set up “Hey, Siri” for both AirPods and iPhone.
The AirPods 2 is expected to be launch during the first half of 2019 according to the various media report. 9to5Mac also shared an image showing up the “Hey Siri” setup for the AirPods and iPhone.
The feature is quite similar to what we have been using with Google Assistant, which can be enabled by saying “Ok Google”. The “Hey Siri” integration for the upcoming AirPods 2 and will have the same voice command functionality.
Users will be able to perform the different task just by saying “Hey Siri” while their iPhone is in their pockets.
