Earlier this year we saw several smartphone manufacturers launching their first 5G phones at MWC 2019. Samsung launched its Galaxy S10 series including the Galaxy S10 5G variant. We also saw the launch of several other 5G phones such as Huawei Mate X, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G, ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G, and LG V50 ThinQ. Except for HTC, almost every other company have already announced their 5G phones or are expected to announce later this year. However, now it looks like HTC is finally gearing up to take the next era of high-speed mobile internet by launching its first 5G phone soon.
With that said, a new HTC phone has now been spotted on Bluetooth SIG certification by folks at The Android Soul which suggest that phone is the same 5G smartphone that popular tipster Evan Blass had talked about. However, the tweet has since been taken down.
The upcoming HTC 5G phone passes the Bluetooth SIG certification with model number 2Q6U10000. The phone’s Bluetooth SIG listing reveals that it supports Bluetooth 5.0. The Bluetooth SIG listing, however, didn’t reveal any other details about the upcoming 5G smartphone from HTC.
The listing of the phone on the Bluetooth SIG website now suggests that HTC could soon launch its first 5G phone, but when it will finally launch it’s not clear yet.
