Until yesterday to listen to music from YouTube on the Google Home speakers was a “luxury” reserved only for users subscribed to the YouTube Music Premium service. At € 9.99 per month, it allows you to listen to music without limits and without advertising, with the ability to listen to music offline and off the screen.
From today, however, anyone can listen to music on the Google Home and Google Home Mini speakers, using the free YouTube Music service. Now you can ask Google Assistant to put a personalized station or your favorite music genre.
However, the price you’ve to pay with the free service is in the form of advertisements. But if you want to get more control when listening to music you can switch to YouTube Music Premium for € 9.99 a month.
To activate the free service, simply open the Google Home app on your smartphone, open your account settings, navigate to the Services tab and select Music. At this point, it will be sufficient to select YouTube Music to start listening to your music.
The service is already active in Italy, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Japan, Austria, the Netherlands, and the United States.
