AMD Announces First Radeon RX 5700 NAVI GPU, 3rd Gen 7nm Ryzen Processor With PCIe 4.0 Support and More

At its Computex 2019 keynote, AMD’s Lisa Su announced a whole new line of high-performance 7nm-based computing and graphics products which is said to deliver new levels of performance, features, and experiences for PC gamers, enthusiasts and content creators. AMD at Computex also announced its first and the long-awaited NAVI GPU called AMD Radeon RX 5700 for PC gamers. The new NAVI GPU is based on AMD’s all-new RDNA gaming architecture and it will target mainstream gamers.

The new AMD Radeon RX 5700 features high-speed GDDR6 memory and support for the world’s first PCIe 4.0 interface.

During the keynote, Dr. Su showcased the power of RDNA and one of the new AMD Radeon RX 5700-series graphics cards in a head-to-head comparison with an RTX 2070 card running a Strange Brigade gameplay demo, beating the competition delivering incredible ~100 FPS gaming. AMD Radeon RX 5700-series graphics cards are expected to be available in July 2019

3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Desktop Processor Line-up

Alongside AMD also announced the following 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Desktop Processor Line-up which is based on the new “Zen 2” core architecture along with their pricing and release date. The list includes new AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, the Ryzen 7 3800X, the Ryzen 7 3900X and Ryzen 5 3600X and Ryzen 5 3600 CPUs.

The new AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU will compete with Intel’s Core i7-9700K Processor and it said to offer 1% more single-threaded, and 30% more in multi-threaded performance. While the new AMD Ryzen 7 3800X will compete with Intel’s Core i9-9900K processor and it is said to match the performance of the Intel’s i9-9900K.

On the other hand, the new AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU will compete with Intel’s Core i9-9920X Processor which is said to beat the Intel i9 9920X by more than 16%.

In addition, AMD also introduced a new X570 chipset for socket AM4, bringing the world’s first PCIe 4.0 readiness, which is said to provide 42% faster storage performance than PCIe 3.0, enabling high-performance graphics card, networking devices, NVMe drives, and more.
