Google has teased the launch of a new smartphone in India on May 8 which we’re expecting to be the Google Pixel 3a. On May 7, Google I/O 2019 event is scheduled where we’ll be seeing some hardware announcements for the Indian and global markets as well.

Ahead of the launch, Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL models have received the Bluetooth SIG certification. This certification is mandatory before the launch, so the recent certification hints both smartphone might arrive in the same event.

The Pixel phones are running the Android Q beta, but the listing reveals both models to come with Bluetooth 5.0 and Android 9.0 Pie. Maybe after the launch, we can see Google pushing the latest beta version.

However, this is not the first time we’ve been hearing about the Googe Pixel 3a and 3a XL. Previously, we’ve seen renders of the Pixel 3a, on Geekbench and also on official Google Play Developer console.

It’s worth noting that the Pixel 3a will be a mid-range phone in the Pixel line with trimmed down specs. Although we can expect the same design as the top models feature.

Talking about the specification, there is no official information but rumors are surfacing giving us some hints about the specs. The Pixel 3a is said to come with a 5.6-inch a full-HD+ OLED display, 4GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC. The bigger sibling will be featuring the Snapdragon 710 chipset.

But as the launch event is just around the corner, let’s wait for it to see what Google will offer.
