We have already seen several 5G smartphones launch this year including Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and recently launched Galaxy Note 10 5G, Huawei Mate X 5G, Xaomi Mi Mix 3 5G, LG V50 ThinQ 5G, etc. There are also some other manufacturers like OnePlus, ZTE who have launched their 5G phone this year and more are about to launch as well. Now a report from Digital Trends, Juho Sarvikas, chief product officer for HMD, told that Nokia will launch its first 5G phone somewhere in 2020 next year in the U.S. Juho also revealed that their first 5G phone will cost half the price of 5G phones which exists today.

The comments made by Juho on the pricing of Nokia’s first 5G phone hints that it could be priced at around $500 to $600 price range. If this happens, then Nokia’s 5G phone would be the most affordable phone 5G phone in the U.S.

Notably, the Moto Z3 or Moto Z4 is currently the most affordable 5G phone in the U.S. But both these phones require users to snap a 5G Moto Mod to their device in order to use 5G service.

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the LG V50 ThinQ 5G are the only 5G smartphones available in the U.S. The Galaxy Note 10 is currently selling at around $1,300, whereas the LG V50 ThinQ 5G cost at around $1,000.

Juho further said that HMD Global is also “working closely” with silicon vendors and the U.S. carriers in order to release its 5G phone in the U.S. If Nokia manages to hit a $500 price for its first 5G phone then it will be a big game-changer for the company in the run of 5G smartphones in the U.S. and other parts of the world.

However, there no other details available about the upcoming Nokia 5G phones including its name. We expect more details to be available soon, according to the report more news about the phone could be available around February next year in 2020.
