Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of this year because of its cutting-edge graphics with unprecedented levels of detail, and stunning sights that we will all be witnessing this November on the next-gen consoles. But, what about the PC? Well on PC the game will look even better. Yes, to further enhance the graphical details and make the game look even more realistic and immersive on PC. Nvidia has announced that Nvidia’s Ray Tracing and DLSS 2.0 tech will come to Cyberpunk 2077.

Nvidia last year announced the inclusion of ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 and shared some amazing in-game screens with the tech-enabled.

Cyberpunk 2077 Four New Ray-traced Effects

Now, Nvidia has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting four new ray-traced effects in the game, that will further improve the image quality, realism, and immersion. The four new ray-traced effects are as follows.

  • Ray-Traced Diffuse Illumination – This captures sky radiance as well as emissive lighting from various surfaces.
  • Ray-Traced Reflections – Ray-traced reflections are used on all surfaces and can trace ranges for up to several kilometers, enabling realistic reflections across vast view distances.
  • Ray-Traced Ambient Occlusion – Ambient occlusion is a shading and rendering technique used to calculate how exposed each point in a scene is to ambient lighting.
  • Ray-Traced Shadows – Ray tracing enables developers to bring pixel-perfect shadows to games.

Nvidia says, that each of the above-mentioned effects is powered by DirectX 12 Ultimate’s DXR Raytracing API, and are optimized for GeForce RTX graphics GPUs and their dedicated ray-tracing cores.

NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 Tech

Another graphical advancement Cyberpunk 2077 will get is the NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 tech. The DLSS 2.0 is powered by Nvidia’s dedicated AI processors used on GeForce RTX GPUs called tensor cores.

DLSS 2.0 helps boost frame rates while generating beautiful, crisp game images in the game. Notably, there are several games which already use DLSS 2.0 tech including games such as MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, Control, Minecraft, Wolfenstein: Youngblood etc.

Notably, Cyberpunk 2077 launches later this year in November 2020, and will also be available on GeForce NOW, with support for ray-tracing effects and DLSS 2.0. Nvidia says, that even if you’re playing on an old PC, a Mac, or an Android device, you can experience Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p 60 FPS, and that’s I think would be really great.
