What has happened these days on the Metacritic page regarding the user rating of The Last of Us Part 2 is now well known that is on everyone’s lips. A real review bombing that led the title to reach the 2.5 marks (more or less) without a real and significant reason.

We don’t want to go into too much detail now to try to understand the plausible reasons or not that the user may have had, what matters is that something, within this voting system, had to be changed.

Therefore, the managers of the Metacritic review pages have in fact decided to modify the section dedicated to user reviews. For now, if a person wants to express their opinion, giving a vote on the net, they will have to wait for an undefined period of time before they can do so.

It is possible to take the Superliminal game as an example, available from today for various consoles, which does not allow the user to be able to make a review if the 9:00 pm of July 9th has not passed before, thus encouraging to spend more time on the title before giving a judgment.

We know that with this system, the review bombing function has not been canceled, but only delayed for a few days. Furthermore, however, there may have been an enhancement of the moderation system brought by Metacritic of which we are not yet aware of.

We will have to wait a few days before fully understanding how a somewhat thorny issue will be resolved in order not to repeat itself again.
