Rumors arose last week that the next game in the God of War series will be revealed in August. But what does the game director Cory Barlog say about the messages about a possible successor to the PS4 exclusive hit?
As part of a large-scale online event, Sony Interactive Entertainment launched the first titles in development for the PlayStation 5 in June. These include big names like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Gran Turismo 7, or Horizon: Forbidden West.
As it was said at the end of the event, players can look forward to more PS5 games that will be revealed soon. Previously unconfirmed reports suggest another State of Play episode in early August that will feature more PS5 games.
According to the insider Moore’s Law is Dead, who correctly predicted various contents of the Xbox Games Showcase, the successor to God of War should be presented at the State of Play next month. Rumors that we shouldn’t be paying too much attention to. So none other than on Twitter, Cory Barlog, the game director behind God of War for PS4, took a stand on the current rumors.
With a corresponding gif, Barlog made it unmistakably clear that the details of Moore’s Law is Dead do not correspond to the facts. It is unclear whether the same also applies to the rumor that the comeback of a well-known PlayStation brand will be confirmed as part of the State of Play in August.
According to unconfirmed rumors, the next issue of State of Play will take place on August 6, 2020. The people responsible at Sony Interactive Entertainment have so far not commented on or even confirmed the news about the new State of Play.
