Grand Theft Auto is undoubtedly one of the most profitable franchises in the history of video games, especially thanks to Grand Theft Auto V which revolutionized the brand thanks to its online component, which has now become a sort of game in its own right.
It’s hard to say what the future of the series will be after GTA V and GTA Online, but the recent registration of a new domain might answer that question. As discovered by the Reddit user cmputerguy, in fact, there is a new online domain, gtavicecityonline.com, registered by Take-Two Interactive, owner of Rockstar Games.
What could it mean? It is currently difficult to say. Most of the information we know of seems to indicate that a potential GTA 6 is currently very far from a possible announcement. It is therefore much more likely that this domain has been registered in view of an expansion of the online component of GTA 6, given that the title will release in 2-3 years.
After the launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the landing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and subsequently the release on PC, the episode that has been the most successful ever of the entire saga, GTA 5 will in fact also land on PS5 and Xbox Series X with all the enhancements of the new version (improved graphics and all online expansions).
But that is not all. For all owners who purchase PlayStation 5, it will be possible to play Grand Theft Auto Online for free, upon registration to the PlayStation Plus subscription service. In addition, all PlayStation 4 players will receive $1 million GTA dollars a month.
The release date of GTA V for next-gen consoles is currently set for a generic 2021. However, we will still have to wait a little longer to find out when the Rockstar title will be ready to show itself to the public for the third time.
