As the developers of inXile Entertainment announced, players of the classic role-playing game Wasteland 3 can look forward to a permadeath function. The catch: the feature will not be available at launch.
After several delays, the old school role-playing game Wasteland 3 will finally be released for consoles and PCs at the end of the month. Shortly before the official release of the title, the responsible developers at inXile Entertainment confirmed another feature that we can look forward to. We are talking about the so-called permadeath feature, which is aimed primarily at experienced role-playing knights who are looking for a particularly tough challenge.
As the name of the Permadeath features already suggests, companions who have fallen in combat remain permanently dead. If you die at any time, however, you will have to start the Wasteland 3 campaign from the beginning. According to the creative minds of inXile Entertainment, the implementation of the permadeath function is associated with some effort. Therefore the feature will not be available for the launch of Wasteland 3.
Instead, the permadeath function will be part of a post-launch update that has not yet been given a date. Wasteland 3 will be released on August 28, 2020, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Holders of the Xbox Game Pass or the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can download and play the role-playing game in time for the launch at no additional cost.
In Wasteland 3 you end up in icy Colorado. As a player, you face a challenging tactical battle, explore an interactive world and experience a deep story full of brutal ethical decisions. Create and customize your squad in single-player or co-op mode. Whether with blazing weapons or peaceful negotiations, your decisions mean life or death for those who try to survive in this harsh and unyielding world, said the developers.
