Xbox Series X Will Be As Quiet As Xbox One X, Phil Spencer Comments

Speaking during Gary Whitta’s Animal Talking show, Xbox Division Head Phil Spencer said Xbox Series X launch plans won’t change significantly after the delay of Halo Infinite. The executive also said that the next-gen console will be as quiet as Xbox One X.

According to Spencer, Xbox Game Pass could play a key role in the launch of Xbox Series X and he has anticipated important announcements about the future games coming to the service.

“What you’ll see from us around the launch of the console, frankly, isn’t going to change too much because you were going to hear a lot about the console and a lot about Game Pass and how we think those two things together are a really great value proposition for gamers going into the next generation,” he said.

“Our investment in Game Pass and that portfolio continues to be strong. We’ve got some more… really great, strong, announcements to come about things… coming to Game Pass,” the executive continued.

Phil Spencer said last weekend he was able to take home the final version of the Xbox Series X complete with packaging. “When I put the Series X in place of my One X, there was no more noise than what I saw with the One X and a lot more power. You literally just plug it in, right in place and get such a big upgrade. All my games are working and it sounds just like my Xbox One X did, with a lot more power,” he said.

According to Spencer, finally, Xbox Series X will be as silent as Xbox One X: “On both the GPU and CPU side, these consoles are powerful computers essentially. I wanted a large fan that we could spin a little more slowly so that we’re not making noise. I wanted to make a really quiet console. I love what we had done with the Xbox One X and the quietness of the console is something we focused on.”

Xbox Series X will release in November.
