The last series of the Nvidia GPU range was the 2000 series that featured the RTX 2070, 2080, etc. these cards were although high performing cards but were quite expensive.
On September 1st, the Nvidia released the new RTX 3000 series, and what we can see is a new revolution or era in the history of gaming. The performance of these cards is amazing but is relatively cheap as compared to the preceding 2000 series. Release Dates
The RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090 are the models that are included in the 3000 series and each of them will be released on their respective dates. The 3080 will be released on the 17th of September, while the 3090 will be released on the 24th of September. Moreover, the 3070 is rumored to be released somewhere in October.
Another good news about the 3000 series is that Nvidia is giving away the Watch Dogs Legion plus GeForce now subscription free with the 3000 series card you buy. Also, according to Nvidia, the supply of these cards will be less as compared to the previous series. This also can hike the prices of these series if the demand of the public is high. According to my thinking, the shortage of supply may be due to the disruption caused by the Coronavirus.

According to the Nvidia, the price of the 3000 series won’t be much high if we compare them to the existing series and in terms of their performance. The price of the Nvidia 3090 will be the most, and the 3090 founders edition will cost approx. 1499$. The card is set to launch on 24th September.
On the other hand, the RTX 3070’s price will start from 499$ which is quite an amazing deal. I mean at this price, we used to buy some mid-ranged cards but now we are buying a massive beast whose performance beats the much more expensive RTX 2080-Ti.
The third one, i.e. RTX 3080’s price will be around 699$ and will give an unmatched performance.
Third-party manufactures like Zotac, Asus, MSI, Inno3d, Gigabyte, etc. will have their own features and prices. For instance, each manufacturer releases a different version of each card. We can take an example of Asus, which commonly releases a simple edition and another edition named “Asus Rog Strix” which is far more advanced than the simple edition. Also, these vendors release the overclocked versions which are obviously expensive than the non-overclocked version.
Nvidia’s Ampere Technology
Nvidia’s Ampere technology is the most exciting feature of the RTX 3000 series. In other words, we can say that it is no less than a technological marvel. Also, these are the first cards that will utilize the GDDR6X memory featured by the Micron and will give band with speed up to 1TB per second. Amazing isn’t it? Moreover, these cards are based on Samsung’s 8nm manufacturing process. Keep in mind that the RTX 3070 will feature the simple GDDR6 memory.
In terms of output, the cards are ready to provide you with 4k and 8k of gaming resolutions, thanks to the induction of HDMI 2.1a and DisplayPort 1.4a. Also, the RTX 3000 series will be the first cards to have AV1 codec support that will help the streamers a lot.
Design
After the Ampere technology, the design of the card is the second thing that has amazed us. The dual Axial fan design allows up to 55% more airflow as compared to the previous designs, i.e. single-sided fans. This is yet another breakthrough in the designs of graphic cards. The design also allows a 3x quieter operation and makes the card 30% more efficient if we compare it to the previous designs.
Another fact regarding the fan design is that we have only seen this design on the founder editions only, i.e. made by Nvidia itself. The images released by the third-party manufactures show that they haven’t adapted the design have gone with the single-sided fan design similar to the existing cards. However, as the cards are yet to be released, we can not say anything accurately.
In the released pictures by the Nvidia, we can also notice that these cards also have a 12-pin connector rather than 6-pin or 8-pin connectors. This clearly shows that these cards will need larger power supplies as they demand some extra power. However, this is only for the founder edition, and for the third-party manufacturers, it could be changed.

So, these were some of the best features and upgrades that are taken by the Nvidia. However, the actual performance of these cards can only be determined once the cards are released. As the PS5 and Xbox Series X were about to be launched by the end of this year, most of the experts believed that for the first time, the consoles will beat the PCs in terms of performance. But thanks to these RTX 3000 beasts, the PCs are now far more ahead then the consoles in terms of performance.
