A new PS4 system software update 8.00 will be available today globally. According to the official details, the latest PS4 software update 8.00 will include changes to the existing Party and Messages features, new avatars, updated parental controls and more.
The latest update is also said to add an option to “Mute all Microphones” in the Quick Menu. Now the new option will allow to easily mute your mics while gaming. Players will also get some new avatars from their favourite games including the following games:
The new PS4 8.00 update will also end the ability to create Events and Private Communities. After this update, you will no longer be able to create Events or access existing Events created by other users.
Notably, the update will also change the PS4 Remote Play app name on mobile (iOS/Android), Windows PC and Mac, to PS Remote Play. You will also see the option to connect to PS5 after this update.
The latest PS4 8.00 update is further said to add an enhanced 2-Step Verification (2SV) on PS4. After this, PS4 will be able to support third-party authenticator apps as an option during the activation flow and 2SV sign-in across PS4, mobile and web. There is also more simplified and flexible parental control is said to be added in the latest PS4 8.00 update.
Sony hasn’t revealed an exact timing for the latest system software update but the update will be available today and Sony says that PS4 users will need to have a wired connection via a LAN cable in order to download the update. Check out the full details here.
