Google has announced to bring some new improvements and customization to the Google Fit on your Wear OS by Google watch. Yes, Google has announced a new update for the Google Fit that will be available soon to your Wear OS on Google Watch and will bring a number of new improvements to workout tracking with a fresh new design.

Google says that if you already use Google Fit on your Wear OS by Google watch, you’ll see these changes on your watch starting this week. Google has announced seven new improvements coming to the Google Fit app on the Wear OS. Below you can find all the 7 seven improvements coming to the Google Fit workout tracking on your Wear OS.

  • Improved Workout Tracking and Fresh New Design

An improved workout tracking on Wear OS with a simpler user experience is said to be coming with the upcoming update for the Google Fit app. The update will also include a fresh new design to boot.

  • Your Progress At a Glance

With the upcoming update for Google Fit, you will now be able to see key metrics upfront with two tiles dedicated to your performance during your workout. Also, swiping up to the right will allow you easy access to your media controls and settings mid-workout.

  • Alert on Per Kilometer/Mile

You will now be presented with an alert on each kilometer/mile, showing your split time at a glance, and an update on how you’re trending against your last split.

  • New Heart Rate Zones and Metric Customization

This option will allow you to check if you are gaining Heart Points with the heart rate zones on the top of your screen. You will also be able to change your workout performance metrics including (Calories, steps, time, Heart Points) with a tap to track.

  • Set Workout Goals

You will now be able to set a target distance, calorie count, steps, or Heart Points goal for each workout, and get updates on your progress throughout.

  • Daily Goal Notifications

You will now also get daily goal notifications for Heart Points and steps so that you can celebrate your success with your daily workout goal.

  • Accidental Taps Prevention

To prevent accidental tap on your watch during a workout, the upcoming update to the Google Fit will now allow you to switch on Touch Lock directly from your workout. But you still be able to use the hardware buttons to pause, resume, and switch screens, and hold the power button to switch it off again. Google says that this feature will only be available if you watch has the latest system version of Wear OS (H MR2).

  • New Breathe Tile

With the new breath tile, you now get easier access to guided breathing sessions. Once the breathing sessions  finished, you can view a summary that includes how your heart rate changed between the beginning and end, and you can also see a recap of your breathing sessions for the week.

The Google Fit on Wear OS update is said to be available beginning this week. If don’t already use the Google Fit on your Google Watch then you can download the latest version from the Google Play Store on your Watch.
