At the Galaxy Unpacked event 2021, Samsung on Thursday officially launched its Galaxy S21 series containing the latest flagship smartphones including the new Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21+ 5G and the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G for the year 2021. Samsung at the Galaxy Unpacked event also launched the new Galaxy Buds Pro which Samsing says sense when you speak and turns the volume down automatically.

Galaxy S21 5G is priced at Rs. 69,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the 256GB storage option’s price tag is Rs. 73,999. The Samsung Galaxy S21+ on the other hand is priced at Rs. 81,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option and Rs. 85,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

The most expensive, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is priced at Rs. 1,05,999 for the base 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the top-end 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variants is priced at Rs. 1,16,999, that’s I think is a lot of money for a phone.

In the US, Galaxy S21 starts at $799, whereas the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra come with a starting price of $999 and $1,199, respectively. The three phones are now up for preorders in the US from January 14, and will finally go on the first sale from January 29.

Color Options

The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ both will be available for purchase in new signature colour option called Phantom Violet, including Phantom Black, Phantom Siver and Phantom Pink for the Galaxy S21. While the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be available in Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy, and Phantom Brown colour options.

Preorder, Availability and Sale Start Date in India

The preorders for the new Galaxy S21 Series smartphones will kick off starting January 15, 2021, while the phones will go on sale in India starting January 29, 2021, via Samsung.com, Amazon India, and Flipkart, amongst other online portals, as well as via offline retail stores.

As for the biggest highlights and specifications, all three new models of the Galaxy S21 series comes with 6-inch+ Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O displays with super-smooth 120Hz refresh rate. All the three phones also come with IP68 rating and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the display.

On the Galaxy S21 Ultra, you get a larger 17.3cm (6.8″) QHD+ Infinity-O edge display, while on the Galaxy S21 you get a 16.95cm (6.7″) Flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X FHD+ Infinity-O display, and lastly, Galaxy S21+ features a 15.84cm (6.2″) Flat FHD+ Infinity-O display. Notably, the Galaxy S21 Ultra also comes with S-pen support among others.

In terms of design, the new models including Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21+ 5G and the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has a similar design seen on the previous Galaxy S20 series smartphones.

Under the hood, all three phones come powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2100 SoC for the global market and with (Snapdragon 888 in the US), along with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM. All the three phones run on One UI based on Android 11 out of the box.

The Camera

Talking about the cameras, the Galaxy S21 5G and the Galaxy S21+ both sports a triple rear camera setup housing a 12MP Ultra Wide Camera, a 12MP Wide-angle Camera and a 64MP Telephoto Camera with 30X Space Zoom.

While on the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G you get a quad rear camera setup that includes a 12MP Ultra Wide Camera, a 108MP Wide-angle Camera, a 10MP 2 Telephoto Cameras and a 10MP 2 Telephoto Camera with 100X Space Zoom.

Upfront, the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ have a 10MP selfies shooter, while on the Galaxy S21 Ultra you get a 40MP selfie camera. As for the camera features, you get up to 8K at 24fps video recording, 8K Video Snap that you can pull straight from 8K Video.

For powering the three devices, you get a 5000mAh battery on the Galaxy S21+ 5G, a 4800mAh battery on the Galaxy S21 5G and a 4000mAh battery on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Also, all the three phones support USB PD 3.0 fast charging and also Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 at 10W as well as Wireless PowerShare for reverse wireless charging.
