With HDR enabled on your PS5 you can experience playing games with a higher contrast or larger colour and brightness range than Standard Dynamic Range (SDR). If you have a PS5 console but don’t know how to enable and adjust HDR on your PlayStation 5 console then this post is for you.

  • Go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > HDR on or off. 

Adjust HDR settings on PS5

  • Go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Adjust HDR.

Resolution
Set the screen resolution.

4K Video Transfer Rate
Adjust the transfer rate for 4K resolution video. If you experience flickering on your screen, try selecting -1 or -2 to limit transfer speed, and possibly improve picture quality.

Deep Colour Output
Enables smooth image rendering.

RGB Range
Change this only when you use an HDMI device that does not send RGB range information correctly.

You should know, that your PS5 console comes with 4K and HDR capabilities and also supports HDMI 2.1 specification, and can play 4K video 120 Hz with compatible TVs that support 4K video output at 120 Hz.
