The new Call of Duty part is said to be developed under the working title WWII: Vanguard. So it is more and more likely that we will get a new WW2 title of Sledgehammer Games this year.
The Call of Duty insider ModernWarzone suggests that which working title the next game of the long-standing shooter series is being developed. Allegedly the game is called WWII: Vanguard, which confirms the rumors about the Second World War as the setting.
Because it’s just meant to be a working title, the final product will most likely be named differently. At least there are now hardly any doubts about a WW2 setting.
Last month, the same leaker reported that the next part will definitely be created at Sledgehammer Games. The US development studio was responsible for the 2017 release of Call of Duty: WWII. Therefore, at this point, it was already suspected that you would end up in the Second World War one more time.
Another industry insider named Victor_Z also posted a Twitter post shortly afterward, which did not contain any words but was nonetheless more than clear. A hammer emote and a picture of Call of Duty: WWII indicated a sequel that is logically produced by the same developer.
On the other hand, there is a leak in which the 1950s were mentioned as a period of action. Described in more detail, the next Call of Duty is to be carried out in the Korean War. ModernWarzone suspects an alternative setting in which the Second World War lasted significantly longer. The campaign may also be told through flashbacks: War veterans could talk about their experiences in cutscenes, which you will re-enact afterwards.
