OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro Get OxygenOS With May Security Patch, Improved HDR Effect and More

OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro have started receiving the fresh OxygenOS in India. As per the changelog screenshot of the OnePlus 9 Pro update shared by a user on the OnePlus forum, the latest OxygenOS brings the May 2021 security patch.

Further, the changelog screenshot shows a couple of system-wide fixes and improvements including improved charging performance, lagging issue of the keyboard, and improved system


The latest update also improves the HDR effect in some shooting scenes as well as also improves the white balance performance of the rear camera. However, a user commented on the post reporting that after updating to the latest update he took 3 photos in direct sunlight to check HDR and he ended up getting a warning of overheating by his phone.

This is something that I think OnePlus should look forward to fixing as soon as possible.

Lastly, the latest OxygenOS update for OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro improves the stability of network Communication and performance of the Wi-Fi connection.

OnePlus 9 was launched in March 2021 running on the OxygenOS 11, based on Android 11. It features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Fluid Display AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The flagship smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 Pro also runs Android 11-based OxygenOS 11. It features a 6.7-inch QHD+ Fluid 2.0 AMOLED display with a 120Hz display. The smartphone packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65T Warp Charge fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
