Samsung Exynos 2200 with AMD “Voyager” RDNA2 GPU Spotted on Geekbench

A purported benchmark for Samsung’s next AMD hybrid Exynos SoC, the Exynos 2200, has been leaked. According to GalaxyClub, the chipset has the ID “s5e9925,” which indicates that it is part of the next-generation Exynos AMD hybrid.

The result comes from a Geekbench 5 run discovered by Twitter leakster Benchleaks, and it implies that the forthcoming mobile chipset may disappoint those hoping for a big increase in processing throughput above what Samsung presently delivers with the Exynos 2100. That’s because the chipset is expected to have a configuration similar to the Exynos 2100s, which has 1x Cortex-X1, 3x Cortex-A78, and 4x Cortex-A55 cores.

The graphics, on the other hand, are claimed to give a significant performance boost and may successfully compete with the next Apple A15 Bionic. They will be built on AMD RDNA 2 architecture and purportedly dubbed the AMD Voyager. The latter will very certainly be included in the next-generation iPhone 13.

Essentially, the Samsung Exynos 2200 looks to be primarily designed for gaming, although it should be sufficient for most users.

On the graphics front, the Geekbench tesdollar series has revealed the Samsung SM-S906B SoC, which is driven by an AMD GPU. The chip utilized in this test is said to be an Exynos 2200 variant.

The Samsung Voyager EVTA1 codename was previously used to identify the forthcoming device, and Geekbench data appears to validate this by mentioning it in the driver section.

The Samsung Exynos 2200 features a total of eight cores, with four clocking at 1.73 GHz, three at 2.5 GHz, and one at 2.59 GHz. These frequency figures appear to be lower than those of the Exynos 2100, indicating that the chip in question is an engineering model. The data does not include AMD GPU scores because the primary Geekbench test is for CPU compute power alone. Exynos 2200 is expected to contain 384 Stream Processors in 6 Processing Units, according to reports.

In the single-core test, Samsung’s CPU received 1072 points, while in the multi-core workload, it received 3389 points. This is lower than the Exynos 2100, which has a maximum score of 1112 and a maximum score of 4073. However, we will be able to see considerably greater figures when the final version of the chip is unveiled.

In early 2022, the new Samsung Exynos 2200 SoC is scheduled to debut with new Galaxy phones. However, it is still unknown in which markets Samsung will make available the Exynos 2200 SoC.
