What Causes Operation Failed Error 0x0000011b on Windows 10, 9, 8, & 7?

Update: It appears that to fix the above issue you don’t need to remove any KB update from your PC. Instead, you can try to do the following.

Open the Windows Registry Editor and navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print key, create a new DWORD-32 bit value named RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled, and set it to 0, as shown in the Registry file below.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print]
“RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled”=dword:00000000

and you should be able to print.

When the Registry DWORD is set to RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled=1, Windows encrypts RPC communication with network printers and/or print servers.

Performing the above is much faster than uninstalling the KB that was applied. Thanks to Windows user BBaker32, for providing this fix.

  2. thanks a lot my problem solve using this “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print”, add DWORD RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled = 0. Restart the Print Spooler, and you should be able to print.

  3. Solución correcta en Windows 10: “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Print”, agregue DWORD RpcAuthnLevelPrivacyEnabled = 0. Reinicie Print Spooler.
    Muchas Gracias !!!
