During the recent XBOX and Bethesda Games Showcase, we got to see the first official gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated Starfield game. The gameplay trailer showcased lots of details about the game including the game mechanics, planets, story, ships, character customization options, and more. In the beginning, the trailer also showed us a new charter called VASCO. Now, after watching him, you’ve probably been wondering: Who is VASCO? This article will explain his background and weapons and discuss his persuasion system. But first, let’s get a clear picture of his appearance.

In the game, you play as the peaceful robot named VASCO. VASCO is an android that has unspecified defensive capabilities, but you can see from its concept art that it hides a rifle in its arm. Bethesda has not confirmed this, but we’ll be happy to hear it if it’s true.

Who is Vasco?

A new video from Bethesda has revealed a new character called Vasco, a robotic companion. Vasco is a robot that is built by Lunar Robotics and was dubbed a “heavy industrial machine that’s ideally suited to space travel.”

In the video, Bethesda describes the Vasco as a “humble companion” with “a unique set of attacks and defensive capabilities.” Interestingly, the game’s name is a nod to Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama, who was the first European to reach India by the sea in 1498.

Although VASCO is a peaceful robot, he also has unspecified defensive capabilities. While his arm is presumably equipped with a gun, it’s unclear if he’ll have this weapon. Earlier concept art has shown a rifle hidden in his arm, but Bethesda has not confirmed the weapon. Still, it’s good to know that we’ll see some sort of weapon in the game, and that’s a pretty cool feature!

VASCO origin story

The latest teaser trailer for Starfield has fans buzzing with speculation about the game’s plot. A barely-visible figure can be seen walking outside of the space station, while another teaser trailer shows off a cosmic event. Fans assume this is a reference to the canceled project “Constellation,” which involved lunar and Mars exploration. Though Bethesda hasn’t elaborated on this possibility, some fans have noted that the game’s release date is eleven years after the original release date of Skyrim.

While the game’s plot is fairly straight-forward, Todd Howard’s previous teasers hint at a twist that will leave players scratching their heads. During the trailer, there’s footage of mysterious artifacts that seem to be connected to the game’s world, but it’s unlikely this is the whole story. However, it’s nice to see that Starfield is making the story of its protagonists more interesting and engaging than it has to be.

While the game’s combat system is familiar to fans of Bethesda games like Fallout 4, the skills available for the player are somewhat new in the game. In Starfield, players choose from various classes and their starting skills, like bounty hunter, gangster, professor, or cyberneticist. Other classes are science, medicine, robotics, and laser weapons.

The character creation suite allows players to customize their characters to their liking. There is also a biometric ID system, which may refer to presets or saved creations. It is possible to change this at a genetics facility as well.

Confirmed Guns and Weapons in Starfield

There are currently six confirmed weapons in Starfield, and two more have been spotted in gameplay. The EON semi-auto pistol, by default, holds twelve bullets, but players can customize it with attachments and mods. The semi-auto pistol is also a powerful weapon that can be customized with various upgrades.

Here are the confirmed Starfield guns:

  • EON Semi-Auto Pistol
  • Grendel SMG
  • Coachman Shotgun
  • AR-99 Assault Rifle
  • Equinox Semi-Auto Rifle
  • Maelstrom SMG

However, the game does not yet reveal the names of the mods available for the gun.
