PlayStation PC Launcher May Be in the Development, Spider-Man Files Reveals

Sony is rumored to be working on a PlayStation PC Launcher but hasn’t given any details. The company has only recently launched an official PlayStation PC website. This new website has several PlayStation-exclusive games available for PC, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Although Sony has not commented on its PC launcher plans, the official PlayStation website reveals that games will work as normal and no PSN account is required.

Sony is already dabbling in the PC gaming market with real intent. The company has ported PlayStation-exclusive games such as Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Uncharted, and Spider-Man to PC platforms. And it may even be working on its own launcher for its games. A recent report from VGC claims that references to a PlayStation PC launcher have been found in files for Marvel’s Spider-Man, which has been rumored to be in development.

While Sony is making major moves in the PC gaming market, they’re trying to avoid adding additional requirements, like PlayStation Network integration. Instead, the company releases its PC games through Steam or the Epic Games Store.

This way, players don’t have to create extra accounts for those games. However, Sony has made some subtle hints that a PlayStation PC launcher may be on the way. The code for the launcher can be seen in games like Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

Having a PlayStation PC Launcher for PC games is certainly a possibility. While it would be a major step forward for Sony, it may not be enough to compete with Epic Games and Steam.

In addition to the PlayStation PC Launcher, the company might also be looking to expand its content distribution platform. The company has previously said that it’s aiming to go multiplatform and expand its distribution channels.

The company has been seeking a UX Designer to lead its off-console experience. The company’s ad has hinted that Sony is aiming for the PC launcher as well.
