The latest KB5020435 version of Windows 10 has an update that addresses an issue with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS). Some types of SSL or TLS connections can experience failure due to an error. This new update addresses this issue and resolves the issue for affected devices.
The issue can occur when there is no mutually supported TLS protocol between the client and server. In this case, the client must upgrade its browser to support the latest TLS version. Ideally, it should support TLS 1.2 or higher. However, if it is running on an older version of Windows, it may be necessary to restrict TLS to version 1.1 or higher.
If the problem persists after the update, you can try disabling the plugins and resetting the browser. This might fix the SSL/TLS handshake error. You can also try clearing your local SSL slate. This step will help you determine if you are having any server-side issue.
In some cases, SSL connection errors occur because of server-side configuration problems. Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome installed on your computer, and download the latest version from Google’s website.
Additionally, you should check your system’s time. If the time is incorrect, this could cause SSL connection issues. SSL certificates rely on system clocks for validation, so if the time is wrong, errors will occur when the certificates are being verified.
