Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Delayed to April 28th, 2023

EA and Respawn Entertainment are delaying the highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to April 28th.

The sequel to last year’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Survivor will continue the story of Cal Kestis five years after his swashbuckling adventure in the galaxy far, far away. It will offer players new Force abilities, lightsaber stances and weapons to use against the Empire.

It will also have an impressive cinematic combat system, one that has been compared to the likes of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Horizon Zero Dawn by some.

In addition to the cinematic combat system, Survivor will also feature some very cool animations that make the game look and feel more akin to an old-school arcade shooter than a typical video game.

A big part of this is a new combat system that will allow you to parry and block enemy attacks in an innovative way.

It is the first time this has been implemented in a major video game, so you’ll definitely want to keep your eyes peeled for some impressive lightsaber fights!

The game’s launch is still scheduled for March 17th, but Respawn and EA are delaying it in order to get everything just right.

There’s no word on what will be done with the extra six weeks, but if it’s just a little bit of additional polish and bug-fixing, then I think this is a great move. It’s not a huge delay by video game standards, but it will certainly help the developer to put out a quality product without the risk of a rushed release.
