Xiaomi today launched its new budget Redmi 7A smartphone in China that was recently spotted on Tenaa. The new Redmi 7A comes as a successor to the Redmi 6A and including entry-level specifications. As some of its main highlights, the new Rumi 7A comes with a 5.45-inch screen, 4,000mAh battery, and a 13-megapixel primary shooter. It doesn’t feature any fingerprint sensor.
The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, clocked at 2.0GHz. The phone supports up to 256GB expandable storage via micro SD card but there is no word on the RAM or onboard storage at this point.
On the camera side, new Rumi 7A features a 13-megapixel primary rear camera with PDAF. The phone also comes with a 5-megapixel front shooter with AI Face Unlock support. There is a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. The phone also comes with P2i splash-resistant coating, 3.5mm audio jack, and a Micro-USB port.
The connectivity options are unclear, but you can expect to see 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.
There is no word on its pricing and availability as yet. However, Xiaomi is expected to reveal the pricing at its flagship Redmi K20 smartphone launch on May 28.
