Popular mobile chipset maker MediaTek today launched its new MT5670 TV chipset for that 4K smart TVs. Notably, the MediaTek MT5670 chipset is also rumored to be powring the upcoming OnePlus TV set to arrive this month in India. This is not the first time MediaTek is coming with a TV chipset. There are almost 2 Billion and more TVs across the world using a MediaTek SoC. So, the new MediaTek MT5670 chipset is expected to be seen on the upcoming OnePlus smart TV.
According to the official press note, MediaTek MT5670 chipset will make it easy for TV manufacturers to build high quality, feature-rich 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) digital TVs at affordable price. Notably, MediaTek owns 70 percent market share and is the No. 1 chipset provider for digital and smart TVs.
MediaTek MT5670 Chipset Features
The new MediaTek MT5670 chipset features four Arm Cortex-A53 CPUs operating at 1.5 GHz and an Arm Mali G51 GPU. The MT5670 SoC also includes supports for Android TV 9, Rich format audio codec, UHD@60Hz direct drive, 3D graphic support OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0/3.1/3.2 and more.
