PlayStation 5 even date has finally been revaeled. Sony today officially confirmed the PlayStation 5 event for June. According to the official announcement, PlayStation 5 (PS5) event will take place on Thursday, June 4 at 1PM Pacific Time, 4PM Eastern Time and 9PM UK time. The PS5 event on June 4 is said to run for over an hour-long and will also provide us the first look at games coming to the PS5 and is part of their series of PS5 updates.
Notably, The Future of Gaming PS5 event will be streamed via Twitch and YouTube. Sony has asked everyone to join on Twitch or YouTube on June 4 at 1PM PDT to see what’s in store for the next generation of games.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz today, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan spoke about the challenge he set his team to develop digital presentations that can generate the sort-of excitement you would expect from an E3 press conference.
- “Obviously the shows, whether it’s GDC, PAX, E3, Gamecom… they’ve all gone,” he said. “We have to live in a world where that particular oxygen isn’t available to the industry. It’s not available to PlayStation or anybody else. We just have to come up with ways to communicate what we’re doing, and try and engender the same level of adrenaline, excitement, buzz that we get with thousands of people in an auditorium in Los Angeles. And do that somehow remotely.”
Jim Ryan in another post on Gamesindustry today also said that PlayStation is not interested in bringing new PS5 games over to PS4 “It’s time to give fans something that can only be enjoyed on PlayStation 5”.
Ryan also noted that PS5 will launch this year globally, and its first-party games are on schedule.
