OnePlus better known for its mid-range and flagship OnePlus devices. But it seems that the company has now finally decided to bring a similar premium, flagship experience for people who want a really solid OnePlus smartphone but for a more affordable price. OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau through a forum post announced that OnePlus is working on a new and more affordable smartphone product line.

Pete Lau also said that the new product development is led by Paul Yu, who has headed product hardware development for many of our previous flagship devices over the past 5 years. Lau also announced that the new affordable OnePlus smartphone product line will first come to India and Europe. Lau also noted that OnePlus is looking to bring more affordable smartphones to North America in the near future as well.

“As we have always done when we try something new, we are going to start relatively small with this new product line by first introducing it in Europe and India,” Lau said in the forum post. “But don’t worry, we’re also looking to bring more affordable smartphones to North America in the near future as well.”

In addition, OnePlus has also created a new Instagram account named OnePlusLiteZThing that also confirms July as the launch date for the new affordable OnePlus smartphone product line.

OnePlus however hasn’t configured any other details about the first smartphone in the newly announced affordable line yet. But, considering the name of the Instagram account, many think that the first smartphone in the new line may be called OnePlus Z.
