Ori and the Will of the Wisp Developer Talks about Bringing the Game to Nintendo Switch

Will Ori and the Will of the Wisp come to Nintendo Switch? There are many who want to see this game on the console, but for now, the clues indicated that this port would not occur. Its creators have spoken on this matter.

Ori and the Will of the Wisp was a great sequel at the height of the first game. The game of Moon Studios was released for Xbox One and PC. But you have to remember that its first game also came, later, to Nintendo Switch.

Therefore, many are wondering about the possibility that this second installment will land on the new Nintendo console. In a Reddit AMA, the lead engineer of Moon Studios Gennadiy Korol answered a question about the sequel coming to Nintendo Switch and offered a brief assessment on this matter.

“Right now we don’t have anything to share when it comes to Ori and the Will of the Wisps port,” Korol says. “If it were to ever happen though I can tell you that it would be (an) extremely difficult port to make run at 60fps.”

Despite the fact that it was possible to achieve, the team already had difficulties in transferring that fps rate to Xbox One, so it would be difficult to replicate it on Nintendo Switch. However, the “if it were to ever happen” continues to hold the hopes of Switch players.

Regarding a follow-up, lead designer Chris McEntee commented: “We really felt that we told the story that we wanted to tell–Ori’s story–across the two games. We’ve left the door cracked open a bit for a potential continuation, though we don’t have anything specific to share at this point and time.”

Recently we came to know that Ori and the Will of the Wisps exceeded two million players since its launch. The game is now available on Xbox One and PC.
