Samsung Wallet has been launched in six markets, including the France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK and the US. It will be available starting Friday in these six markets. The company is also not stating when the app will become available in other markets. Hopefully the new app will be available sooner rather than later. If not, keep reading to find out how it works and what you can expect from it.
The new Wallet app was recently launched in beta in the US, though it will only work on select Samsung smartphones. It doesn’t offer NFC payment capabilities, but it does have several high-profile partners.
The app is designed to store tickets, membership cards, coupons, and other types of information. Other features include co-marketing coupons and location-based ticket reminders.
The Samsung Wallet app runs on the Galaxy phones running Android 9 Pie or later. Some elements require an eSE-enabled device.
The new app combines the Samsung Pass and Pay apps and integrates them into a single, seamless app. Users can access their digital tickets, credit cards, and IDs from a single, convenient place, all with one swipe.
Its defense-grade security from Knox makes it safe to use. It also integrates with SmartThings to unlock doors with a digital key. Ultimately, Samsung Wallet is about bringing more convenience to everyday life while maintaining security.
