The Steam Deck is receiving an update soon that will make it more compatible with gamepads and TVs. With the upcoming update, Valve will be updating the Big Picture mode with a new interface designed for Steam Deck that includes a new Home Screen, Universal Search, and controller configuration options. It will also optimize the store for gamepad navigation. Another change is an updated quick-access menu.
The new interface is similar to that of a game console. It features a system menu, a quick-access menu, and an in-game overlay. Users of DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers can access Big Picture mode with the PS button and A, respectively. In addition, the Quick Access Menu allows users to quickly access quick settings and notifications.
The new Big Picture mode has been in the works for some time now. It was first released on the Steam Deck and has been tested for a while, but Valve has now made it available to the public for testing. As of now, it has been in development for about a year, but there are many improvements to expect.
The new UI includes a home screen that highlights recent games and new releases in the Steam library. Users can also access the universal search feature and a new controller configuration tool. This makes it easier for users to customize their controllers.
While this update is currently in beta, Valve has said it will be out on a wider release soon. While the Big Picture mode is not yet ready for the public, the company is hoping to get feedback from the community before making a final decision. The community can also weigh in by leaving their feedback on the Steam forums.
