Microsoft Will Share Xbox Series X Price and Date ‘When We’re Ready’, Marketing Lead Says

When the Xbox Series X will hit the market is still unclear. In a statement, Microsoft’s Samuel Bateman emphasized that the information will come as soon as they are ready.

Microsoft and Sony continue to test gamers’ patience. A few months before the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, neither the price nor the precise date was given for both consoles. Microsoft just announced that the Xbox Series X will launch in November. Should the company opt for the beginning of the month, it would be pretty much exactly two months separating buyers from the new console.

But the fact remains: It is not known how much the hardware will cost, when it can be pre-ordered and when the official market launch will take place. According to Microsoft, these are questions that cannot yet be answered.

Samuel Bateman, Xbox UK Marketing Director, said on Twitter, “I understand everyone is excited to know and people want to plan purchases etc. We’ll let you all know when we’re ready.” He wrote his comment in response to a tip from a follower who emphasized that fans want to know these critical details so that they can keep their budget appropriately free.

Another follower wanted to know which games will be part of the Xbox Series X launch offer. But Bateman also answered this question rather vaguely: “If I could tell you I would. Like I said, when we’re ready, we’ll tell you :)”

Sony has been even more buttoned-up in the past few weeks. The company didn’t even want to mention a launch month. And both console manufacturers are very late: With the transition to the current generation, Sony and Microsoft announced the prices for the PS4 and Xbox One in June during E3 2013. However, there was no COVID-19 pandemic at the time.

The silence of the PS5 and Xbox Series X manufacturers is likely to have another reason: According to rumors, Microsoft is striving to undercut the price of the PS5 after the company launched the two consoles PS4 and Xbox One, the more expensive console on offer and the demand remained manageable. At least one thing is certain: there is not much time left for the revelations.
