Nvidia Launches GeForce RTX 3050 GPU Priced at Just $249

At CES 2022, Nvidia today launched the GeForce RTX 3050 GPU for desktop PCs. The new entry-level GPU is priced at $249 for the 8GB variant. The GeForce RTX 3050 will be available in two separate configurations, each with a different number of CUDA cores and memory capacity including 4GB and 8GB GDDR6 memory. Notably, the 8GB model uses GA106-150 GPU, whereas the 4GB model will use GA106-140 GPU.

The new GPU comes with a price cut of around $80 when compared with the entry-level RTX graphics card, the $329 RTX 3060. The new GeForce RTX 3050 GPUs are based on Nvidia’s Ampere architecture that also promises to run all the latest games at over 60 frames in a 1440p resolution with ray-tracing and DLSS enabled.

Nvidia has announced GeForce RTX 3050 GPU at a very affordable price, making it the most affordable RTX GPU to date. This is because, as Matt Wuebbling, Nvidia’s VP of global GeForce marketing says, 75 percent of customers are still using the company’s old GTX platform. By announcing the GeForce RTX 3050 GPU and cutting down the price, the company wants gamers to go for an upgraded and better Nvidia GPU for less price.

GeForce RTX 3050 graphics cards come equipped with 2nd generation RT Cores for ray tracing and 3rd gen Tensor Cores for DLSS and AI.

NVIDIA announced that RTX 3050 will be available starting January 27 with a suggested retail price of 249 USD.
